This course is for Solar Project Engineers needing to learn how to produce high quality feasibility reports, drawings and specifications for small to large grid-tied PV systems, including power stations and megawatt solar farms. Such documentation is frequently desired by architectural design teams, engineering firms, developers, and discerning property owners. This class will cover design engineering, design drawing development, creation of feasibility reports, and construction management.
Learning Objectives: • Perform accurate calculations for grid-tied photovoltaic systems from 1 kW to multi-MegaWatt. • Produce photovoltaic feasibility reports. • Produce PV system design drawings and specifications using the theory, techniques, and sample drawings received in class.

Hotel Package: For students needing to travel to one of our training centers we offer a subsidized lodging package that includes free shuttle transportation (no need for a taxi or rental car) and a hotel suite.
Course Materials: • Workbook with course topics, quick references & calculation tools • CD-R with drawing sets of sample project types to use as references for your future designs • Printed drawing sets for in-depth study during class
Prerequisites: This course assumes students have completed a basic course in photovoltaic system operation and solar site evaluation, such as our Solar PV Boot Camp. Students will need drafting skills (or access to drafting services) in order to produce professional-quality design drawings using the skills learned in this class, but drafting software will not be used during in class and drafting skills are not required to complete the course.
